According to the Seattle Police Department, the accident happened just before 10 a.m. near Broad Street and Alaskan Way.

Seattle, WA – A male was killed in a Tuesday morning crash near Broad Street in Seattle.

According to the Seattle Police Department, the accident happened just before 10 a.m. near Broad Street and Alaskan Way.

A preliminary investigation revealed the man had waited for the southbound train to pass along Alaskan Way, then crossed the train tracks, unaware that a northbound train was also about to pass.

Police say the man was hit by a BNSF train and died from his injuries.

The name of the deceased was not immediately disclosed.

An investigation is underway.
