Glendale, AZ – A man was killed in a pedestrian crash Sunday mid-morning near 59th Avenue in Glendale.

The Glendale Police Department responded to the wreck just before 11 a.m. near 59th Avenue and Deer Valley Road.

The man was struck by a vehicle in the area in unclear circumstances.

The unidentified man was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries, where he later died.

The driver of the vehicle involved remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigators, police said.

Pinnacle Peak to Melinda Lane was closed for several hours as officers investigated the scene. Motorists were advised to use an alternative route for travel.
