The OSP said Franco-Velazquez was driving a GMC Sonoma westbound on Highway 6 when he swerved into the path of oncoming traffic and crashed with an eastbound Honda Accord driven by Patrick James Jamieson, 65, of North Plains
Washington County, OR.– Leonardo Franco-Velazquez, 22, of Gold Bar, Washington, was killed in a car collision in Washington County on Saturday morning, according to the Oregon State Police.
The incident took place on Highway 6 near milepost 49 just after 1 a.m. September 7.
The OSP said Franco-Velazquez was driving a GMC Sonoma westbound on Highway 6 when he swerved into the path of oncoming traffic and crashed with an eastbound Honda Accord driven by Patrick James Jamieson, 65, of North Plains.
According to the report, Franco-Velazquez died at the scene of the collision.
Jamieson and a passenger in the GMC, Fernanda Yamileth Gonzalez-Madera, 20, of Tukwila, Washington, were both taken to a hospital with critical injuries.
The highway was shut down for nearly five hours as authorities worked to clear the scene.
The crash is under investigation.
