Police said a 23-year-old man was driving a sedan southbound on 19th Avenue at a high rate of speed weaving in and out of traffic when he collided with a northbound truck that was trying to turn left onto West Lower Buckeye Road
Phoenix, CA.- Kristina Lara, 25, and her 2-month-old son Josiah, were both killed in a car accident in Phoenix on Friday afternoon, according to the Phoenix Police Department.
The incident took place on 19th Avenue and West Lower Buckeye Road at about 1:20 p.m. October 25.
Police said a 23-year-old man was driving a sedan southbound on 19th Avenue at a high rate of speed weaving in and out of traffic when he collided with a northbound truck that was trying to turn left onto West Lower Buckeye Road.
Lara and Josiah, who were passengers in the sedan, were taken to a hospital, where they were later pronounced deceased.
Three other children in the sedan were treated and released.
Police said all the children were not in child safety seats.
The cause of the collision is under investigation.
