Kirth Dwyer Killed, 4 Injured in Rohnert Park Crash on Highway 101 near Rohnert Park Expressway

Rohnert Park, California (August 10, 2021) – Kirth Dwyer, 60, of Rohnert Park, has been identified as the man who was killed in a collision early Sunday morning in Rohnert Park, according to the Sonoma County Sheriff’s Office.
The crash occurred at about 4:00 a.m. August 8, on the northbound side of Highway 101, just north of the Rohnert Park Expressway exit.
The California Highway Patrol said Dwyer got out of a Nissan which had stopped in the middle lane for undetermined reasons.
Moments later, a northbound Ford F-250, driven by Rick Barretta, 41, rear-ended the Nissan, striking Dwyer.
CHP said Dwyer was hit again by a Ford F-150 and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Barretta and his three passengers suffered minor injuries and were transported to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital.
The driver of the Ford F-150, Jorge Mendoza-Suarez, 26, was uninjured.
Further details regarding the accident were not immediately available.
