The CHP said McLaughlin was driving a truck northbound on 40th Street when he drifted into the southbound side, failed to stop for a red light at the intersection, and collided with an oncoming small SUV

Phoenix, AZ.- John McLaughlin, 44, was killed in a multi-vehicle collision in Phoenix on Monday afternoon, according to the Phoenix Police Department.
The accident occurred on 40th and Cholla streets at about 3:15 p.m. October 28.
The police said McLaughlin was driving a truck northbound on 40th Street when he drifted into the southbound side, failed to stop for a red light at the intersection, and collided with an oncoming small SUV.
The truck also collided with a Waste Management truck.
The impact of the collision pushed the truck off the roadway and it slammed into a wall.
McLaughlin was pronounced deceased at the scene.
A man and a child riding in the SUV were transported to a hospital with unspecified injuries.
Authorities are working to determine the cause of the crash.
