Vernalis, CA.- Jairo Renteria-Colchado, 26, of Ceres, has been identified as one of the two people killed in a multi-vehicle collision near Vernalis on Saturday afternoon, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The wreck happened on SR-132 and River Road at around 1 p.m. September 21.
The CHP said Renteria-Colchado, who was driving a Honda sedan, made a left turn and moved partially across the double yellow lines.
The Honda sideswiped a 2013 Honda SUV then collided head-on with a westbound 2021 Toyota sedan.
Renteria-Colchado was killed in the crash.
An 11-year-old Ceres girl in the Toyota was transported to UC Davis Medical Center, where she was pronounced deceased a day later.
Three other parties involved in the crash were also taken to hospitals for treatment.
The CHP is working to determine the cause of the crash.
