Kern County, CA.- An Irvine man was killed in a crash that led to the arrest of one driver in Kern County on Friday morning, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The wreck took place on Highway 46, east of Kecks Road, at about 11:15 a.m. November 1.
CHP said an Irvine man was driving a 2019 Mercedes westbound on Highway 46 when he crashed into a 2015 Freightliner truck-tractor with trailer combination that failed to yield while crossing the highway westbound.
The driver of the Mercedes died at the scene.
The driver of the big rig, Cesar Luis Lopez Jr., 29, of Fresno, was taken to a hospital for treatment and was arrested on suspicion of DUI.
The accident is under investigation.
