Fresno, CA.- Gretchen Scotia, 61, of Fresno, has been identified as the driver killed in a collision with a big rig in Fresno on Friday afternoon, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The wreck happened on Highway 180 at Hayes Avenue at around 1:20 p.m. September 6.
The CHP said Scotia was driving a Toyota Camry northbound on Hayes Avenue when she entered the intersection and the Toyota was hit on the left side by a 2013 Peterbilt truck heading north on SR 180.
Both vehicles were pushed off the roadway onto the north side.
The big rig also spilled its load of pistachios onto the roadway.
Scotia was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The driver of the big rig, a 39-year-old man from Bakersfield, was unhurt and cooperated with investigators.
The crash remained under investigation.
