Gilroy, California (August 19, 2021) – At least one person was injured Wednesday evening following a rear-end collision at an intersection in Gilroy, according to the California Highway Patrol.

Just after 6:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 18, authorities responded to the area of Hollister Road and Bloomfield Avenue to investigate the report of a traffic crash. Hollister Road is also known as State Route 25.

CHP said a gray or silver Nissan sedan crashed into the back of a red Nissan Sentra.

The Sentra sustained major rear-end damage upon the impact.

Emergency personnel responded to the scene and provided medical aid to at least one person who sustained minor injuries in the crash. The name of the victim and their current condition were not available.

No other details about the crash were immediately given.

The accident remains under investigation.
