Four Hurt in Multi-Car Crash on 1-580 in Castro Valley

Castro Valley, Calif. – Four people were injured, three seriously after two separate collisions on Interstate 580 in Castro Valley early Sunday morning.

The California Highway Patrol said the wreck happened at around 5:37 a.m. on the westbound Interstate 580 just east of Eden Canyon Road of-ramp.

The first collision involved a red Tesla, a grey F350, a white F350, and a fourth vehicle. The manner in which they collided was not immediately established.

A second crash happened in the area and involved a single vehicle. One person suffered minor injuries and was taken to a hospital.

Three people were also rushed to a hospital with severe injuries.

More details about the crash were not provided.

An investigation is underway.
