Pasco, WA – A woman, identified by the Washington State Patrol as 23-year-old Erika Rojas Barragan of Pasco was killed Sunday morning in a rollover collision on I-182 in Pasco.
The fatal accident occurred just before 10 a.m. on Interstate 182 near Argent Road.
According to the police, Erika Barragan was traveling westbound on I-182 near Pasco Golfland when she attempted to change lanes and collided with another westbound vehicle driven by a 20-year-old from Pasco.
Barragan's vehicle struck that vehicle and went off the shoulder where it rolled over and crashed through the fence.
Barragan's car landed right-side up facing east on Argent Road.
The impact also caused the other vehicle to overtune, landing on its roof in the median of I-182.
Barragan, who police say was not wearing a seatbelt, was transported to the hospital where she later died.
The 20-year-old driver of the other car was wearing the seatbelt and escaped unhurt in the incident.
A section of Argent Road was closed to traffic due to the collision but has since reopened.
No additional information was provided.
The incident remains under investigation.
