Pasco, WA – The Washington State Patrol has identified a victim killed in a Wednesday morning crash on Highway 12 in Pasco as 63-year-old Eric L. Wommack of Pomeroy.
According to the WSP, the accident happened at around 8:40 a.m. on State Route 12 at Sacajawea Park Road.
Reportedly, Wommack was driving a white Ford Ranger west on the highway when it was hit by a semi hauling a double tanker trailer driven by Alvin E. Ortiz, 50, of Richland.
Wommack was trapped in the wreckage and was declared deceased at the scene.
Ortiz was not injured in the accident and the police said he caused the accident.
The police determined heavy Fog in the area might be a factor in the mishap.
No further information about the incident was available.
The crash remains under investigation.
