The Long Beach Police responded to the incident on East Greenleaf and Long Beach Boulevards, north of the 91 Freeway at around 4 p.m. December 13.
Long Beach, CA – The coroner's office has identified a pedestrian killed in a Friday afternoon crash on East Greenleaf Boulevard in Long Beach as 75-year-old Elvira Cuellar.
The Long Beach Police responded to the incident on East Greenleaf and Long Beach Boulevards, north of the 91 Freeway at around 4 p.m. December 13.
According to a preliminary investigation, a 2009 Chevrolet HHR had made a left turn from East Greenleaf to go south on Long Beach Boulevard when it struck Cuellar, who had fallen in the marked crosswalk in the intersection.
Cuellar was pronounced dead at the crash site.
The driver remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigation.
Speed, distracted driving, and impaired driving did not appear to have contributed to the collision.
The wreck is under investigation.
