Man Killed in Phoenix Pedestrian Accident at 28th Avenue and Thunderbird Road

Phoenix, Arizona (November 1, 2023) – An elderly man died after being struck by a car early Wednesday morning in north Phoenix.
According to the Phoenix Police Department, the accident was reported at around 5:30 a.m. at the intersection of 28th Avenue and Thunderbird Road.
Responding crews located a pedestrian and two vehicles in the area.
The 93-year-old man was in a marked crosswalk when he was hit by an SUV traveling eastbound on Thunderbird.
The victim was transported to a hospital with life-threatening injuries, where he later died while receiving treatment.
The motorist behind the wheel remained at the crash site and did not show any signs of impairment.
More details about the accident were not immediately provided.
The collision remains under investigation.
