Hesperia, CA – A male motorist was critically injured in a car accident at Deodar Street in Hesperia Friday morning.
According to the Hesperia Police Department, the mishap happened at around 9 a.m. at Deodar Street and Jacaranda Avenue.
Reportedly, a Nissan was traveling northbound on Jacaranda Avenue towards Deodar Street and the Chevy was traveling southbound on Jacaranda Avenue towards Deodar Street.
The Nissan then turned west and was broadsided by the Chevy, causing the pickup truck to overturn and land on its roof. The Nissan sustained major damage to the passenger side.
The male driver of the Nissan suffered severe injuries and was rushed by ambulance to the landing zone at Desert Valley Hospital and subsequently flown to Antelope Valley Hospital.
The young female driver of the pickup truck was not injured.
The roadway was closed for approximately one hour while deputies investigated and the vehicles were towed away.
The Hesperia Police Department is investigating to determine the cause of the mishap.
