The rider was heading east on Governor Drive at a high rate of speed when he collided with a westbound SUV

San Diego, Calif. – A dirt bike rider was killed in a collision with a vehicle on Thursday night in the University Heights neighborhood, according to the San Diego Police Department.
The wreck happened on Governor Drive and Erlanger Street just before 8:15 p.m. November 16.
Police said a 31-year-old man was riding a 2018 KTM dirt bike east on Governor Drive at a high rate of speed and with no lights on when he crashed into a westbound silver 2005 Lexus SUV that turned onto Erlanger Street.
The motorcyclist was rushed to a hospital, where he was pronounced deceased.
The crash is under investigation.
