A preliminary investigation indicated Burns was walking northbound on the highway in the travel lane when he was struck by a black Toyota Tundra, operated by Gary Ralph Clark, 62, of Creswell.
Lane County, OR. – David Paul Burns, 39, of Creswell has been identified as a pedestrian killed in a crash on Highway 99 in Lane County Friday night.
According to the Oregon State Police, the crash was reported at about 10:34 p.m. August 30 on State Route 99 near milepost 10.
A preliminary investigation indicated Burns was walking northbound on the highway in the travel lane when he was struck by a black Toyota Tundra, operated by Gary Ralph Clark, 62, of Creswell.
Burns was pronounced dead at the scene.
Clark was not injured. He remained at the scene and cooperated with the officers.
The incident impacted the highway for about three hours.
The OSP is investigating to determine the cause of the crash.
