The cyclist was transported to a hospital in critical condition, where he succumbed to his injuries

Bakersfield, Calif. – A male bicyclist was struck and killed by a vehicle in a crash Tuesday afternoon in Bakersfield.
The Bakersfield Police Department said the collision happened at around 3 p.m. in the 3300 block of Wible Road.
A female driver struck the cyclist for unknown reasons.
Responding crews found the man down on the road with severe injuries. He was rushed to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
The name of the deceased was not immediately disclosed.
The driver involved remained at the crash site and cooperated with the investigators.
The police said neither speed nor intoxication was not believed to have played a role in the crash.
An investigation is underway.
