Colusa Man Dies in DUI Crash on State Highway 20 in Yuba City

, CA – A 27-year-old man was killed and seven other people, including a child, were injured after a suspected DUI driver collided head-on with another vehicle on in Yuba City Sunday night, according to Yuba City Police Department.

The incident happened at about 8:42 p.m. at the intersection of Highway 20 and El Margarita Road.

According to the Yuba City Police Department,  39-year-old Chloe Tokuno-Fraley was driving a white Honda Crosstour northbound on El Margarita Road when he failed to come to a complete stop at a stop sign. Police say Tokuno-Fraley turned right around a raised center median and then drove eastbound in the westbound lanes of the highway.

Tokuno-Fraley, who is suspected of driving under the influence, collided head-on with a westbound Ford F-150 pickup with six passengers. Tokuno-Fraley had a 4-year-old girl in the backseat of her Honda.

Reportedly, all six passengers in the pickup truck were injured. Five patients were taken to Adventist Health/Rideout Hospital in Marysville. The sixth patient was transported to Sutter Roseville Hospital.

According to the Sutter County Sheriff's Office, one of the patients at Adventist Health/Rideout Hospita l- identified as Alejandro Rodriguez-Duran, 27, of Colusa succumbed to his injuries.

Tokuno-Fraley was also taken to Sutter Roseville Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The 4-year-old girl sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to US Medical Center.

Preliminary investigation revealed that Tokuno-Fraley was driving under the influence of alcohol at the time of the collision.

The incident remains under investigation.
