Child Killed, Another Injured in Tacoma Car Crash on 5 Freeway near US 101
Thurston County, Washington (November 11, 2023) – A child died in a traffic collision that happened on Friday night near Tacoma.
According to the Washington State Patrol, the accident occurred around 11 p.m. on southbound Interstate 5 Freeway at milepost 104.32 near US Highway 101.
The circumstances surrounding the collision were not immediately established.
Troopers are on scene with a collision blocking SB I5 just north of SR 101. I am heartbroken to announce that a child has died as a result, and another is in serious condition. One of the involved drivers is in custody for DUI.

Authorities say a child was killed in the accident.
Another was transported to the hospital with serious injuries.
One of the drivers was arrested on suspicion of DUI.
An investigation into the accident is underway.
