Bradley Hughes Killed in Redmond Crash on SW Canal Boulevard and SW Quarry Avenue

Redmond, OR.– A 16-year-old was killed in a near Redmond on Thursday evening, according to the Deschutes County Sheriff's Office.

The incident took place on SW Canal Boulevard and SW Quarry Avenue at about 5 p.m. January 9.

According to the report, a Subaru Legacy was traveling northbound on SW Canal Boulevard when it swerved across the centerline and collided head-on with an oncoming Toyota Tacoma.

The Subaru driver, identified as Bradley Hughes, 16, of Bend, was taken to St. Charles in Bend, where he was pronounced deceased.

A passenger in the Toyota was taken to St. Charles in Redmond with minor injuries.

There were no other injuries in the collision.

Deputies reported that Hughes was not wearing as seatbelt at the time of the accident.

Alcohol and drugs were not suspected to have played a role in the incident.

The crash is under investigation.
