17-Year-Old Boy Killed in San Luis Obispo Crash on Highway 1 and Highland Drive

San Luis Obispo, California (September 12, 2021) – Authorities are investigating a Saturday morning three-vehicle accident that killed a 17-year-old boy and left two other parties injured in San Luis Obispo.
The deadly accident transpired at about 6:45 a.m., on September 11, on Highway 1 and Highland Drive.
According to the officials, a 1990 Volvo, driven by the 17-year-old boy, was stopped at a red light. The Volvo then entered the intersection at a green light.
Unfortunately, the Volvo was reportedly struck by a 2010 Ford F-150 pickup truck that ran a red light. The crash impact sent the Ford crashing into a 2006 BMW 750.

The boy was taken to the Sierra Vista Regional Medical Center, where he succumbed to his injuries.
Bryan Griffiths, 79, of Morro Bay, who was in the Ford, sustained moderate injuries and was taken to the French Hospital for treatment.
The driver of the BMW sustained minor injuries and was aided at the scene.
An investigation into the accident is underway.
