Los Angeles, CA. – A 17-year-old boy riding a skateboard died after being hit by a car in South Los Angeles Friday.

According to the Los Angeles Fire Department, the accident happened in the 400 block of West Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard, near Figueroa Street.

At around 4:25 p.m., the boy was riding a skateboard in the area and was struck by a car.

The teenage boy was pronounced dead at the accident scene.

More details about the accident were not released.

The Los Angeles Police Department is investigating the cause of the accident.
