Chula Vista, CA.- Bob Hilborn, 71, was critically hurt in a bicycle crash that took place in Chula Vista earlier this month.
According to the Chula Vista Police Department, the accident occurred at around 12:27 p.m. August 4, in the 1600 block of Wueste Road.
Hilborn was reportedly riding a bicycle in the area when he was hit by a vehicle driven by a woman in her 30s.
Authorities said Hilborn was hospitalized with critical injuries including fractures to his pelvis and legs.
The driver of the vehicle was arrested by the U.S. Border Patrol officers on charges unrelated to the crash.
The cause of the collision remained under investigation.
