Bicycle Rider Killed in Johnson Park Accident on Highway 299
Shasta County, California (July 4, 2023) – A bicyclist was hit and killed by a vehicle in the Johnson Park area in Shasta County on Monday night, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The wreck happened on Highway 299 east of Rocky Ridge shortly after 9 p.m. July 3.
CHP said the driver of an SUV stayed at the scene after colliding with the bicyclist.
The rider was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The SUV was towed from the scene.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.
