Cyclist Killed in Oakland Bicycle Crash at 98th Avenue and Empire Road
Oakland, California (November 11, 2023) – A bicyclist was killed Friday night after colliding with a vehicle at an intersection in Oakland, according to the Oakland Police Department.
Oakland Police Department officers responded to the area of 98th Avenue and Empire Road just before 9:30 p.m. on November 10.
On arrival, the officers an unresponsive pedestrian in the roadway. The victim, who was riding a bicycle at the time of the crash, was pronounced dead at the scene.
It was not immediately clear if the vehicle involved remained or fled the scene of the crash.
No further information was immediately available.
The Oakland Police Department is investigating the incident.
