Bakersfield Accident on Highway 99 near Highway 58 Kills 1
Bakersfield, California (August 6, 2021) – A Bakersfield accident involving two vehicles Thursday night left a 58-year-old Alhambra man dead.
The deadly crash happened along Highway 99 near Highway 58 at approximately 9:30 p.m.
As per the report, a 2005 Ford sedan operated by the Alhambra man at high speed southbound on Highway 99 rear-ended a 2012 Ford two-axle truck on August 5.
Officials said traffic was slowing and stopping in the area due to a previous accident.
Fatal Bakersfield Car Accident
Due to the impact, the 2005 Ford sedan motorist was trapped inside the wreckage and sustained moderate to major injuries.
Sadly, the driver was pronounced dead at the scene.
The 2012 Ford operator survived with minor injuries in the crash.
Meanwhile, Southbound lanes of Highway 99 were shut down to about 10:45 p.m.
The fatal accident remains under active investigation.
