At Least One Killed in San Joaquin Crash on Highway 4 Near Middle River Bridge
San Joaquin County, California (November 4, 2023) – At least one person is dead following a major crash involving a big rig on Highway 4 in San Joaquin County, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The deadly collision happened at about 5:26 p.m. on Highway 4 just west of Middle River Bridge.
According to the CHP, a red Nissan and a Costco Big rig were involved in the crash.
Responding crews found one person pinned inside the Nissan and pulled them out. The big rig was on the south shoulder leaning towards the canal.
The Nissan almost caught fire but was quickly put out.
Authorities say at least one person died in the crash.
All lanes of the Highway were shut down at Tracy Boulevard.
An investigation into the incident is underway.
