Big Bear Lake, CA. – At least one person was severely injured in a traffic collision that happened Friday afternoon in Big Bear Lake, the California Highway Patrol reported.

Authorities said the accident occurred around 4:52 p.m. on Highway 18 between Glory Ridge Road and the lake.

A gray SUV and a gray sedan were involved in a possible head-on collision.

Good Samaritans moved an injured female occupant from one of the cars.

The driver of one of the vehicles was stuck inside but conscious.

Firefighters and paramedics responded to the scene and helped at least one person who was severely injured in the accident.

Investigators did not immediately determine the cause of the crash.

Both lanes of the highway were shut down for several hours following the wreck.
