According to WSP, Matthew D. Mason, 32, of Benton City, was driving a GMC Sierra pickup truck eastbound on Highway 224 when he drifted across the centerline and collided head-on with an oncoming Acura TSX sedan
Benton City, WA.- A man was killed in a collision involving two vehicles in Benton City on Saturday night, according to the Washington State Patrol.
The wreck took place on Highway 224 near East Sandstone Lane at about 8 p.m. March 1.
According to WSP, Matthew D. Mason, 32, of Benton City, was driving a GMC Sierra pickup truck eastbound on Highway 224 when he drifted across the centerline and collided head-on with an oncoming Acura TSX sedan.
The driver of the sedan, identified as Antonio D. Aguirre, 35, of Sunnyside, was killed in the incident.
Mason was arrested and booked into the Benton County Jail for suspected vehicular homicide.
An investigation into the collision is ongoing.
