Anissa Lawson and Darren Hickerson Killed in Stockton Accident Involving Car on Police Chase

According to the San Joaquin County Sheriff’s Office, deputies spotted a stolen car near Wilson Way and Harding Way around 1:40 a.m. and attempted a traffic stop, but the driver sped away.

3 People Killed After Police Chase Ended in Stockton Crash Identified

Stockton, CA. – The San Joaquin County Medical Examiner’s Office identified the three people who died in a crash at the end of a police pursuit involving a stolen car that happened early Sunday morning in Stockton.

The three were 52-year-old Anissa Lawson, 61-year-old Darren Hickerson, and the suspect, 28-year-old Alejo Ruben Elias Jr. All were residents of Stockton.

According to the San Joaquin County Sheriff’s Office, deputies spotted a stolen car near Wilson Way and Harding Way around 1:40 a.m. and attempted a traffic stop, but the driver sped away.

A high-speed chase ensued but ended at Airport Way and Hazleton Avenue when the suspect crashed into another car at the intersection.

The three died in the collision.

Lawson and Hickerson were in the car that the suspect hit.
