Tucson, AZ – A motorcyclist was killed in a crash that took place in Tucson on Friday evening, according to the Tucson Police Department.
The incident happened at about 7:30 p.m. November 8, in the 6100 block of East Broadway.
Police said Andrew Martinez, 22, was riding a blue 2017 Suzuki GSX 1300 motorcycle eastbound on East Broadway at a high rate of speed when he crashed into a 2016 Mitsubishi Outlander that was making a turn into a parking lot.
Martinez was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The other driver was taken to St. Joseph's Hospital with minor injuries.
Police said the motorcyclist's speed and the Mitsubishi driver's failure to yield while making an turn were factors in the crash.
The investigation is ongoing.
