Zagarino was driving a westbound Nissan Frontier on the highway when, for unknown reasons, he crossed over the double yellow lines and into the path of an eastbound GMC Sierra truck when they collided head-on.

Alexander Zagarino Fatally Injured in Shingletown Vehicle Collision on State Route 44 near Ally Gold Way

Shingletown, CA. – Alexander Miller Zagarino, 31, of Oakland was killed in a Saturday evening head-on crash on Highway 44 in Shingletown.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the auto-car crash was reported at about 7:45 p.m. August 10 on State Route 44, West of Ally Gold Way.

Zagarino was driving a westbound Nissan Frontier on the highway when for unknown reasons he crossed over the double yellow lines and into the path of an eastbound GMC Sierra truck when they collided head-on.

Zagarino was pronounced dead at the scene.

The truck had two passengers inside, 43-year-old Thomas Stewart and 38-year-old Jennifer Stewart. Both were rushed to Mercy Medical Center with injuries ranging from minor to major.

No additional information about the collision was available.

The crash is being investigated.
