The woman was driving a Toyota Camry traveling north on Hayes Avenue that had pulled out from the stop sign onto Whitesbridge Avenue into the path of a big rig hauling pistachios.
Fresno, CA. – A 61-year-old woman was killed in a car crash Friday afternoon on Highway 180 in Fresno.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident happened on State Route 180 at Hayes Avenue.
The woman was driving a Toyota Camry traveling north on Hayes Avenue that had pulled out from the stop sign onto Whitesbridge Avenue into the path of a big rig hauling pistachios.
The driver of the big rig could not avoid the Toyota and crashed into the driver's side, killing the woman unidentified.
The truck driver was not injured, stayed at the scene and cooperated with the officers.
More details regarding the mishap were not provided.
An investigation is underway.
