Yuma, AZ – A 41-year-old male rider was killed after a Monday morning traffic collision in Yuma, according to the Yuma Police Department.
The deadly incident occurred at around 10:41 a.m. on February 17 in the 6400 block of East Gila Ridge Road.
Reports revealed that the deceased was riding a westbound 2008 Yamaha V Star motorcycle on the street when he attempted to pass yeo vehicles in the area.
A 2025 Peterbilt tractor-trailer driven by a 58-year-old man was headed westbound on the roadway ahead of the motorcycle when it made a left turn into a business and collided with the motorcycle.
The rider was rushed to Onvida Health, where he was later declared dead.
Investigators said speed appeared to be a factor in the wreck.
The identity of the deceased was not immediately disclosed.
No additional details regarding the collision were available.
An investigation is underway.
