Several People Injured in 4-Vehicle Collision on Highway 50 in Sacramento

, CA. – Four people were injured, one seriously, in a chain-reaction accident that happened Thursday afternoon in Sacramento.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident took place around 4:10 p.m. on westbound Highway 50 between Watt Avenue and Howe Avenue.

Reportedly, traffic was slowing down when a driver failed to reduce speed, missing to sideswipe a car before crashing directly into the rear of a Jeep and triggering a chain-reaction crash involving two other vehicles.

An adult man got trapped inside his car. Emergency personnel responded to the scene and freed the victim. The patient was hospitalized with critical injuries.

At least three other people sustained minor injuries.

The Jeep and the car that failed to stop sustained major crash damage.

CHP officers are investigating the collision.
