Long Beach, CA – A 35-year-old male driver was killed following a Tuesday morning traffic collision at an intersection in Long Beach.
The crash occurred at about 7:35 a.m. at Wardlow Road and Palo Verde Avenue, according to the Long Beach Police Department.
Reports revealed the driver of a 2002 Toyota Sequoia heading east on Wardlow Road failed to stop at a red light at Palo Verde Avenue, while a 2014 Toyota Tundra traveling south entered the intersection on a green light, and the vehicles collided.
The impact of the collision caused the Sequoia to overturn and eject the driver.
The driver, whose name was not disclosed, died at the scene.
The Tundra remained at the scene and was cooperative during the investigation.
Speed and distracted driving appear to be determining factors in the crash, police said.
