3 Killed in Susanville Crash on Highway 395 near Waldron Lane

Lassen County, CA. – Three people were killed and another was hospitalized following a multi-vehicle collision that happened on Thursday morning in Susanville.

The triple-fatal crash occurred around 5:40 a.m. along Highway 395 near Waldron Lane, according to the California Highway Patrol.

A 46-year-old woman from Susanville was driving a 2014 Dodge southbound when she unsafely passed another driver and collided head-on with a northbound 2022 Toyota driven by a 67-year-old man from Janesville.

A 52-year-old Susanville man pulled over onto the west shoulder of Highway 395 and exited his vehicle to help with the crash. The man was standing near the scene and was struck by an approaching 2018 Ford driven by a 60-year-old woman from Janesville.

The Ford ended up hitting a 2014 Dodge.

The 52-year-old man, 67-year-old man and 46-year-old woman were killed in the accident.

The 60-year-old Janesville woman stayed at the scene and cooperated with the police.

More details about the accident were not released.

An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
