County, CA. – Three people were hospitalized following a major injury collision that happened on Tuesday afternoon in Madera County.

The 2:30 p.m. accident happened on Avenue 25 at Road 9, according to the California Highway Patrol.

A 33-year-old man from was driving a white 2018 Mazda CX5 northbound on Road 9 when he failed to stop at a stop sign at the intersection and collided with a white 2017 Ford F-550 traveling east on Avenue 25.

The crash sent the Mazda off the roadway where it crashed into a wooden fence and a power pole.

The driver and two passengers in the Mazda were transported to a local hospital with major injuries.

The driver of the Ford suffered minor injuries and was treated at the scene and released.
