2 Men Hit, Killed by Speeding Pickup Truck at Van Buren and Challen in Riverside
Riverside, California (June 26, 2023) – Two pedestrians died after being struck by a car on Sunday night in Riverside.
According to the Riverside Police Department, the accident happened near the intersection of Van Buren Boulevard and Challen Avenue at around 11:48 p.m.
A 2011 GMC pickup was traveling at a high rate of speed when the driver lost control at the intersection and struck two men.
The two unidentified men were declared dead at the accident scene.
The driver, a 17-year-old boy from Perris, suffered minor injuries in the accident.
Authorities were yet to establish is drugs and/or alcohol were factors in the crash.
More details about the accident were not released.
An investigation into the accident is underway.
