2 Injured in Car Accident on Highway 101 near Donovan Road in Santa Maria
Santa Maria, California (June 23, 2023) – Two people were injured in a rear-end crash that happened early Friday morning in Santa Maria.
The collision happened on Highway 101 near the northbound Donovan Road off-ramp at around 4 a.m., according to the California Highway Patrol.
A Nissan Infiniti was traveling on the highway when it slammed into the rear of a tractor-trailer carrying cooking oil.
The driver of the Nissan and a passenger were seriously injured in the accident and were transported to Marian Regional Medical Center.
The big rig driver was unhurt.
Santa Maria firefighters and American Medical Response personnel assisted at the scene.

An investigation into the accident is underway.
