Two women were in a crosswalk on Rumex Lane when they were struck by a vehicle that was making a westbound turn
San Diego, CA. – Two women were seriously injured after being struck by a car in the Rancho Peñasquitos area of San Diego on Wednesday evening.
The auto-pedestrian accident happened in the 8500 block of Rumex Lane at Park Village Road at around 5:50 p.m., according to the San Diego Police Department.
Two women were in a crosswalk on Rumex Lane when they were struck by a vehicle that was making a westbound turn onto Park Village Road.
One woman was hospitalized with major injuries including multiple brain bleeds, a skull fracture, a left collarbone fracture, multiple left rib fractures, and bilateral lung contusions.
The second woman suffered a minor brain bleed, a right humorous fracture and abrasions to her knees.
The driver of the car was unhurt.
More details about the accident were not released.
An investigation into the accident is underway.
