Jamestown, CA. – Two people were injured in a collision involving a Tuolumne County Sheriff’s Deputy on Saturday evening near Jamestown, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The incident took place on Highway 108 near Rawhide Road at about 7:30 p.m. January 18.

The CHP reported that the deputy was involved in the collision with a second vehicle.

The deputy and the other motorist were both airlifted to hospitals for treatment of their injuries.

Roads were shut down in the area for nearly two hours as authorities investigated the incident.

The investigation is ongoing.
