Three vehicles were involved in the collision in the westbound lanes of the freeway near Frontage Road

Indio, Calif. – An early Tuesday morning collision involving a U-Haul vehicle on 10 Freeway in Indio left two people injured, the California Highway Patrol said.
The accident took place around 1:37 a.m. in the eastbound lanes of the freeway just west of Frontage Road.
First responders found a loaded U-Haul vehicle, a semi-truck, and one other car involved in the collision. The U-Haul was overturned onto its side with its contents spilled out.
One of the cars was occupied by a child and a female party. The female party was allegedly trapped inside the vehicle.
The driver of one of the cars was transported to the hospital with minor injuries. A passenger complained of pain but it was unclear if the patient was hospitalized. Two cats were in the vehicle but it was not clear if they were hurt.
Several feet of K-rail were destroyed in the crash and needed repair.
CHP officers are investigating the collision.
