2 Hurt in Multi-Vehicle Crash Involving Parked Vehicles in Downtown LA

Los Angeles, Calif. – Two people were sent to the hospital after three vehicles collided, and the force of the impact sent one of them, a tow truck, into multiple parked vehicles in downtown Los Angeles.

According to the Los Angeles Police Department, the pileup occurred around 2:40 a.m. near Washington Boulevard and Griffith Avenue, south of the 10 Freeway.

LAPD said a tow truck was traveling northbound on Griffith when, for an unknown reason, it collided with a red Prius and a silver Prius.

The tow truck then struck at least eight other cars that were parked nearby and overturned onto its side. A power line was also downed in the accident.

The driver of the tow truck and the driver of the silver Prius were hospitalized in unknown condition.

Authorities did not immediately determine what caused the collision.
