Sacramento, CA.- Two people were critically hurt in a two-vehicle collision in South Sacramento on Tuesday morning, according to the Sacramento Fire Department.
The incident happened on Amherst Street and Meadowview Road shortly after 6:30 a.m.
A pickup truck and an SUV were involved in the crash, whose cause was not immediately released.
Two people were extricated from the vehicles and were taken to a hospital with critical injuries.
The crash caused the closure of Meadowview Road as authorities worked to clear the scene.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.
