The CHP said a 19-year-old Bombay Beach man was driving a 1996 Chrysler Town and Country minivan southbound on Highway 111 when he drifted across the dirt center median and collided head-on with an oncoming Freightliner truck tractor
Imperial County, CA.- A teenager from Bombay Beach was killed in a traffic collision that took place on Monday evening in Imperial County, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The incident happened on Highway 111 near Frink Road at about 6:10 p.m. November 4.
The CHP said a 19-year-old Bombay Beach man was driving a 1996 Chrysler Town and Country minivan southbound on Highway 111 when he drifted across the dirt center median and collided head-on with an oncoming Freightliner truck tractor.
The driver of the minivan, whose name was not released, died at the scene of the crash.
The CHP is investigating to determine the cause of the accident.
