1 Killed in Car Accident at Harpold Road and State Line Road in Yreka
Siskiyou County, California (June 24, 2023) – One person was killed in a car crash on Friday night in Yreka near the California-Oregon border.
The fatal crash happened at around 11:00 p.m. on Harpold Road at State Line Road, according to the California Highway Patrol.
A 2008 AM General truck was traveling southbound on Harpold when, for unknown reasons, it travelled into the path of a 1989 Freightliner truck traveling westbound on State Line.
The AM General truck caught fire after the collision, and its driver was transported to Sky Lakes Medical Center.
The driver of the Freightliner was pronounced dead at the accident scene.
Alcohol and drugs were ruled out as factors in the crash.
An investigation into the accident is underway.
