A Pomona woman who was driving the SUV and her two juvenile passengers were transported to the hospital for treatment
Ventura County, CA. – One person was killed in a multi-vehicle collision near Santa Paula in Ventura County on Thursday night.
The fatal collision happened on Highway 126 near Wells Road at around 5 a.m., according to the California Highway Patrol.
A white 2005 Toyota Sienna van was headed eastbound on the highway when the driver lost control while illegally driving in the center divider and hit a white 2011 Ford Ranger pickup truck.
The pickup truck then crashed into a silver 2015 Dodge Durango SUV. All three vehicles then veered off the roadway and crashed into a tree.
A 56-year-old Bakersfield woman who was a passenger in the SUV was transported to Los Robles Regional Medical Center where she died while receiving treatment.
A 33-year-old Pomona woman who was driving the SUV and her two juvenile passengers, aged 1 and 2, were transported to the hospital for treatment.
The Oxnard woman driving the Toyota van was hospitalized with major injuries including a broken ankle.
A 36-year-old Santa Paula man who was driving the pickup truck was taken to the hospital for treatment of moderate injuries.
More details about the accident were not released.
An investigation into the accident is underway.
